Big client design process

Ongoing, big project ๐Ÿค“
We already had a kickoff meeting with Laure that was interesting and that validate the assumption I had that this kind of meeting saves time eventually.

IHECS

Support

I had and still have support to do for IHECS through Damien's workplace.

Possibility for organizations to collect money without launching projects ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Community tab

At Koalect we aim to get people closer together. A way to do that is by allowing them to engage as they see fit. An encouraging comment has value for project leaders and other people who support or want to support a project.

Improvements

Thinking about how search could be better in Koalect. Lot of dev work though ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Dynamic payment procedure

Antoine needed a design overview of all the kind of transaction Koalect proposes depending on the different modules.

Ongoing and finished pretty soon. Also took more time than expected ๐Ÿ—“

Process

Koalect Design website + newsletter

The website aims to collect processes, relevant information and thoughts regarding the design of Koalect and our platforms.

JIRA

Despite a couple of weeks wandering in the darkness of Jira, I'm more and more comfortable with it now.

Client processes

We now have two processes for small and big clients.

Design process

I'm listing UX jobs and select relevant ones depending on the project I work on.

Sketchboard

You all saw it.

OKR

Curious about how it will go.

Side-projects

I wish indiviuals in the company to be transparent about what they do and who they aim to become. In order to do that, I wanted to share with you what you maybe don't always see.

Ourson ๐Ÿป

You guys know that but as a reminder, I launched Ourson last december. It's a newsletter I'm sending every two weeks more or less to let people discover music. It's also a blog now for which five people (including me) are writing articles that are read by a hundred music lovers.

This project started because I felt the need to share with my friend what I discover while listening to music and it grew to people I don't even know so that's funny and rewarding.

Ourson made me learn new things like Facebook Ads, a deeper understanding of MailChimp, some community building skills, automating and scheduling tasks, tools like Shopify and it also makes me a better writer eventually.

All this to let you know that if you have questions about what I could have learnt through Ourson, feel free to come to me ๐Ÿ™Œ

Teaching

I was proposed to teach a course at HEAJ (the school I went to) on UX. It's a small course of 8 hours for 3 classes that I would be able to give in one day. As it doesn't make sense for founders to take days off because we're paid anyway, the gig is going to benefit Koalect ๐Ÿค‘

Personal website

Once in a while, I like to review my website. It allows me to test new stuff that I can't use for Koalect as I don't always master them yet. As you may know, I'm a big fan of Ghost and their 1.0 release made me rebuild me own space on the internet ๐ŸŒ

Conclusion

Processes need to be respected for us to be effective. I make my best to show my work and this article is part of this effort.

To improve

Time management

I have to be more efficient regarding my time. I feel I'm losing a lot of time switching from one job to another even though it could wait a bit. Defining time slots would help me and let other know when they can come and disturb me or when I need focus.

Project management

Nobody in the company is the true product owner and I think it should be me. As Laure is our client project manager, I need to become our product project manager and make sure what I start goes through the different phases of design, development and even business goals.
